Cookies & Device Storage
What the current site stores or loads, and what your browser can control.

Cookies and other device storage
Cookies are small pieces of data stored by a browser for a website or service. localStorage is a different browser storage mechanism that can persist across visits. Device-storage rules can apply to technologies other than cookies.
Cookie consent banner
On first visit (and when you open Cookie settings), a banner explains essential cookies and optional advertising measurement. Essential cookies are always on so sign-in and security can work. Optional advertising measurement is off until you choose Accept optional. Choosing Reject optional does not sign you out or remove your session cookie. You can change the choice later from Cookie settings in the footer (or on the Mini Forge product site).
Current first-party behaviour
TW Farms does not load Google Analytics or a visitor-analytics script. Optional Google Ads measurement only loads after you accept it in the cookie banner. Hosting or embedded services may behave differently; this is not a claim that no information is processed or no cookies can ever be set.
Signing in
If you choose to sign in, Firebase Authentication uses browser storage to maintain and refresh your community login. This is needed for the requested account service. Sign out to end this browser’s session, or clear site data to remove local storage. Google sign-in and optional phone verification can contact Google services and use their security mechanisms, including reCAPTCHA. Mini Forge studio accounts use a secure, HttpOnly session cookie, tw_user_session, with a maximum 30-day lifetime, scoped to .twfarms.uk so it can work on both twfarms.uk and miniforge.twfarms.uk. The studio may also cache display information locally. These sign-in cookies and storage are essential for the login you requested; rejecting optional advertising cookies does not remove them.
Latest-videos localStorage cache
The latest-videos feature automatically reads and, after a successful feed response, writes a cache under a key beginning tw-farms-youtube-v1-. It contains up to three public video IDs, titles, publication dates and a feed-fetch timestamp. Its purpose is to display previously loaded video cards when fresh information is unavailable, not to identify you or track viewing history.
While the page is active, the feature attempts refreshes at roughly 15-minute intervals. Cached data older than 30 days is not treated as usable. That freshness limit is not an automatic deletion deadline: localStorage may remain until replaced, removed by the feature’s fallback handling, or cleared by you or your browser.
YouTube players and thumbnails
YouTube thumbnails contact YouTube image servers. Map-tour players use youtube-nocookie.com and can contact YouTube when loaded, before playback. Privacy-enhanced mode is not a guarantee of no processing or no device storage. Playing or interacting with third-party content may use cookies or similar technologies under the provider’s policies.
YouTube players are not blocked behind the cookie banner today. Browser cookie and content-blocking settings can restrict third-party activity, although this can affect playback. The locally hosted SADIE introduction does not load a YouTube player.
Other services
GHP Farmer’s AutoDrive Academy and course files are served by TW Farms. Links to GHP’s videos open YouTube when selected. External links to community, merchandise or support services open those services under their own policies.
Google Fonts makes external font requests. A network request is not necessarily a cookie, but can still involve technical information such as an IP address. Cloudflare delivery/security behaviour depends on its service configuration. Third-party storage names and lifetimes can vary by service and interaction; this page does not claim a complete runtime inventory of those services.
Your controls
Use your browser’s site-data settings to inspect or clear cookies and localStorage for twfarms.uk, or restrict third-party content. Clearing the video cache removes the saved cards; it may be created again on a later successful visit. Disabling storage does not disable ordinary links, and the video feature includes fallback cards.
Where a service provides its own settings, consult its privacy and storage information. Browser controls are not a substitute for any consent the law requires. Future advertising, analytics or storage changes should be reviewed alongside the relevant notices and consent controls.
